Announcement of the new logo of the European Energy Award in Serbia (EEAS), developed within the framework of the EEAS design competition

We are proud to announce the launch of the new and first logo of the European Energy Award in Serbia (EEAS) which has been developed within the scope of a nationwide design competition.

The European Energy Award (EEA) is an internationally recognized Energy Management and Certification System that is being implemented in the four Serbian pilot cities and municipalities of Kruševac, Paraćin, Užice and Vrbas with support of the Municipal Energy Efficiency and Management Project (MEEMP), through which the Swiss government in cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Mining and Energy supports the pilot municipalities in improving energy efficiency.

Within the MEEMP, the EEAS has thoroughly been tailored to the Serbian context and supports Serbian local authorities in continuously improving their local energy and climate performance and energy efficiency in accordance with the Serbian national energy and climate strategy.

The new logo of the EEAS has been developed through a design competition that invited students across Serbia with the aim to reflect and communicate the EEAS’ mission and bring in their own vision of a sustainable energy future.

From the numerous appealing designs submitted by motivated Serbian students, a jury, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Energy of the Republic of Serbia, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, had the difficult task to select the future logo of the EEAS. The chosen logo design was created by Mr. Nikola Minić, student of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade.

Mr. Minić isawarded with prize money in the amount of 500 CHF as reward for his design that convinced the jury. The awarded logo will represent the European Energy Award in Serbia and become part of the international EEA logo family with all different logos of the national EEA systems.

In addition to Mr. Minić, further participants of the design competition were recognized by the jury for their commitment and outstanding designs as well.

Mr. Dragan Stosković, Mrs. Kristina Vasović, Mrs. Danica Živković and Mr. Đorđe Tomić were finalists of the competition and their designs were awarded with prize money in the amount of 100 CHF each.

We’d like to thank all participants of the competition for their cooperation, engagement and commitment in developing professional and appealing logo designs for the EEAS and we sincerely congratulate Mr. Minić on winning the competition.
