In the period from 7th to 9th of May 2019 at the Center for Professional Development in Krusevac a training and workshop on the subject of improving energy efficiency was held within the third component of the MEEMP project aiming to strengthen human and institutional capacities at the local level. This three-day training for teachers from the territory of Krusevac resulted in the proposals of the curriculum for school activities on the subject of energy efficiency.
25 teachers from 15 schools participated in this training developed for teaching staff of primary and secondary schools. The were selected in cooperation with the local eco-coordinator network, consisting of representatives of all schools in Krusevac. The training was held by Mrs. Christine Froehlich, an international expert for capacity building and Mrs. Sladjana Jevremovic, component 3 manager and energy expert.
The course included theoretical lectures, interactive exercises and group work on the preparation of teaching materials for six lessons for students on energy efficiency. As part two of the training, teachers held the six lessons in three schools with a total of 145 students. During the third part of the course, teachers exchanged experiences after the held classes with their fellow participant teachers and elaborated detailed teaching plans for the six lessons.
After the training was completed, all participants received the “Certificate of attendance ” while members of the team for the MEEMP project implementation from Krusevac, Ms. Olivera Drenovac, Assistant Mayor for Environmental Protection, Mr. Bratislav Djordjevic, Krusevac city Energy Manager and Mrs. Dragana Milicevic, Head of the Krusevac eco-coordinator network received the “Certificate for support in organizing and conducting the training”.
